What are Health Effects of Hazardous Substances?
Understanding the health effects of hazardous substances is fundamental to occupational hygiene practice. This discipline examines how chemical, biological and physical agents interact with the human body, the mechanisms of toxicity, dose-response relationships, and the epidemiological evidence linking workplace exposures to adverse health outcomes. This knowledge is essential for effective risk assessment and the implementation of appropriate control measures.
Who should attend?
This intermediate-level course is designed for occupational hygienists, health and safety professionals, industrial hygiene technicians, occupational health nurses, and anyone responsible for assessing and managing health risks from hazardous substances in the workplace. Participants should have completed 503 or have equivalent foundational knowledge in occupational hygiene.
